Why is puppy socialization essential

Pups at Puppy Day Care get to socialize with their friends, play games with their carers, go for walks, have a full, fun day, and go home happy, content, and all played-out. Our daily activities concentrate on giving your beloved pup a combination of structured play, mental stimulation, and fun exercise within a safe environment. And of course, there’s a ton of love and care

The critical socialization period of a puppy is the first couple of weeks when your pup’s brain is like a sponge. They are taking in information about the world, determining what is and isn’t safe, and how to interact with their environment. The experiences that a puppy has during this time will have a lasting impact on their behavior thru out their life.

Puppy Daycare & Socialization is more than just exposure.  It’s the process by which the puppy gains the knowledge and experiences he needs to take his place in society and all this is done thru coordinated fun.  Creating the social and emotional bond beneficially to both the human and the dog and developing the emotional intelligence to form deep meaningful relationships and connections.  Dogs need to become sociable members of both the Dog society as well as the human society.

stimulation

We provided productive ways for your puppy to engage his brain cells thru games

  • hide & seek

  • nose games

  • interactive toys

exercise

Puppies needs exercise to thrive, to build up a healthy immune system, to learn co-ordination as well as appropriate interactions with other dogs, and to learn about new surroundings.   Thru age-appropriate exercise puppies learn and explore

interaction

Dogs are social animals!!

Controlled interaction and socializing with other pups of similar size and personalities will lead to a stable well-adjusted pup

meet & great

06h30 - 09h00

Puppies start arriving and are checked in.  Belongings, medications, food, and toys are collected and stored in each pup’s locker followed by a quick health check.  Pups are taken to their respective play areas, the start of a day full of fun and games.

morning activities

09h00 - 10h30

Each day we have fun, stimulating, and safe activities planned for the pups.  All games are approved by a Canine Behaviourist and done under supervision.

One-on One Basic puppy obedience forms part of these sessions

exercise and group activities

10h30 - 12h00

High energy group activities between each other and the caretakers.  There are toys available during “Free Play”, but most of the time the dogs really just want to enjoy each other's company. We also get a chance to enjoy their company and dote on them.

lunch time / nap

12h00 - 13h30

Special needs are attended to, and lunch is served

Puppies are placed in the open areas and can decide if they would like to laze in a kennel or a hound sleeper in the shade, take a dip to cool off, or chew a toy (if they have any energy left from the morning).

free play / structured outings

13h30 - 15h30

Pups get to play with each other and explore the garden.  This time is used for an "energy outlet" where the pups set the tone of the intensity and activity.  As always, under supervision

It is also during the afternoon that pups ( pre-approved permission ) are taken of the property for specialized socialization trips.

home time

15h30 - 18h00

All pups are readied for collection and moved into the sleeping area.  A quick brush and wipe off followed by a last cuddle
